How TPU cable carriers perform in heat and oil mist
Comparing nylon and TPU on abrasion, oil resistance and UV, and where flexible carriers fit demanding duty cycles.
TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) combines elasticity with abrasion resistance, making it suitable for frequent reciprocating motion, cold starts or oil-mist environments.
Versus traditional nylon PA66, TPU carriers often excel in tear and ozone resistance, but wall thickness and joint design must match the load. Field checks show properly selected TPU series can cut jacket wear around molding cells and outdoor automation lines.
In service: avoid excess torsion, keep support roller spacing sensible, and inspect hinges and covers on the maintenance schedule.
